Updated 24/4/17

His Royal Highness the Duke of Rothesay has paid a visit to the Royal Deeside Railway to view the progress made on the refurbishment of the vandalised coach, which has now been extensively repaired due in no small part to his generosity.

He met the members of the small but dedicated team that have done the work, together with other sponsors who helped make the work possible.

The Duke also visited the Victorian station that was recently rescued from its dilapidated state at Oldmeldrum.  It has been brought over to the MIlton of Crathes and fully restored, resulting in a National Railway Heritage 'Highly Commended' award.

The Royal Deeside Railway would like to express its gratitude to his Royal Highness for his generous contribution to the repair of the coach, and also to all other sponsors, which will enable many more visitors to the railway to enjoy the delights of Royal Deeside in the coming years.
