Join the SocietyMuch work needs to be done to bring the railway back to Deeside, and there are many ways in which you can help us achieve this goal. You can support the society by becoming a member. Members receive the society newsletter "The Queen's Messenger" keeping them informed of the progress being made, and are entitled to a discount on society clothing purchased from the visitor centre at The Milton. There are several membership options available, from individual subscriptions to corporate and group memberships. To find out more about membership, click here. |
You can also donate funds to the society to help further it's work. To make a one-off postal donation, click here. Alternatively, to set up a standing order (regular donations from your bank account to the society), click here for an annual standing order or click here for a monthly standing order and send the form to YOUR BANK (not the society).
You can help raise funds for the RDRPS every time you purchase on-line from one of the big retailers, such as Amazon and John Lewis at no cost to yourself

If you want you can take a more active role in supporting the society by becoming a volunteer. No prior experience is required and the only prerequisite is that volunteers are members of the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society, or of another recognised Heritage Railway Society - this is to ensure that all volunteers are covered by insurance.
Some of the volunteer tasks are listed below. For more information, members can join the Working Parties Email List maintained by the society (members will receive an email when a Working Party is planned, detailing the location and type of work being undertaken). Fill in the form below to join the mailing list. (Please note that, for insurance reasons, you must be a current member of the society to join the mailing list).
Or if you want more information on volunteering, why not get in contact with a Committee Member?
To assist with fundraising the Society operates a small lottery scheme through the 200 club. This is open to all members of the society and for the equivalent of £2.50 monthly each member is entered into a monthly draw for 3 prizes the total pool for which represents approx 30% of the funds invested. The surplus is dedicated to a specific project identified by the Committee at the beginning of each year's cycle (for example the objective for the current year is an engine shed for Bon Accord). To join the club, obtail a copy of the rules or receive further details please contact the membership secretary
